For over 100 years, AURORA of CNY has advocated for and increased awareness of the issues most important to the blind, visually impaired, deaf, hard of hearing, and DeafBlind of Central New York. From legislation advocacy to workplace trainings, educating our community on these important issues remains core to our mission at AURORA.

AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE (ASL) INSTRUCTION
It’s never too late to learn a new language! Let our teachers, who are deaf, provide an enriched learning experience in language and culture. All levels from beginners to advanced are welcome!
BLIND IMMERSION EXPERIENCES
Our in-house experts come to your workplace and immerse sighted individuals into the world of those who are blind or visually impaired. This great team-building experience builds empathy and compassion for those with visual loss, increasing awareness of how your business can best serve these individuals.
DEAF THAT PRESENTATIONS
Deaf culture doesn’t need to be a mystery. Let our team provide in-service training and presentations on issues related to Deafness, Deaf culture, and other issues of interest impacting community members who are hearing or deaf/severely hard of hearing.
PROVIDER SENSITIVITY TRAININGS
Our team provides technical support and sensitivity training for service personnel, direct care staff, first responders, partnership organizations or any professional employer or group. Let our team develop a comprehensive and custom-designed program for your specific workplace’s needs!
