Aurora of CNY, Inc. receives funding from a variety of community entities to deliver its full range of services. We are grateful for the support and partnership of the following agencies:
NYS Commission for the Blind and Visually Handicapped (CBVH) – contracts with Aurora to provide rehabilitation and pre-vocational and employment services for individuals who are blind or Deaf/blind, as well as to provide services to children and seniors who need assistance in adjustment to vision loss.
Onondaga County Department of Aging and Youth – contracts with Aurora to provide outreach, information and referral for seniors throughout Onondaga County.
New York State Office of Vocational and Educational Services to Individuals with Disabilities (VESID) – contracts with Aurora to provide transitional and supported employment services for individuals who are Deaf and hard of hearing.
United Way of Central New York – supports programming that addresses the rehabilitation, employment, social work and support needs of individuals who are blind, Deaf, visually-impaired and hard-of hearing throughout Onondaga County.
United Way of Cayuga County – funds programming that addresses the counseling support needs for individuals who are adjusting to a sensory loss.
United Way of Greater Oswego – provides funds to deliver social work, support and outreach to individuals who are experiencing a sensory loss.
National Industries for the Blind – contracts with Aurora and in partnership with the Syracuse Veteran’s Administration Medical Center provides
employment opportunities through the Switchboard Operations Center at the medical center.
Syracuse Veteran’s Administration Medical Center – hosts a National Industries for the Blind sponsored worksite for individuals who are blind and visually impaired in collaboration with Aurora of CNY, Inc. through the Switchboard Operation Center at the Medical Center.
Lions’ Clubs of New York State and Bermuda Area Lion’s Clubs – from throughout Central New York provide support for Aurora programs and services.
